Scholarship - AYUSH Scholarship, Government of India 2013


The Government of India is offering twenty (20) scholarships under the AYUSH Scholarship Scheme to eligible students from Malaysia for the academic year 2013-14. Students wishing to pursue courses in Traditional System of Medicine in India can apply for this scholarship. The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will administer this scholarship.

The AYUSH Scholarship Scheme covers the following courses in Traditional Systems of Medicine in India:
(i) Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) - 11 seats
(ii) Bachelor of Siddha Medicine & Sciences (BSMS) - 5 seats
(iii) Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) - 2 seats
(iv) Bachelor of Homeopathy Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) - 2 seats

The courses are being offered in the following institutions:

Names of Colleges for BAMS:
1. Rajiv Gandhi PG Government College, Paprola, Himachal Pradesh - 1 seat
2. Government Ayurved College, Raipur, Chhattisgarh - 1 seat
3. Government Ayurved College, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh - 1 seat
4. Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyala, Pune, Maharashtra - 1 seat
5. Government Ayurved College, Patna, Bihar - 1 seat
6. Government Ayurved College, Tripunithura, Kerala - 1 seat
7. Shri Dharmashala Ayurvedic College, Udupi, Karnataka - 1 seat
8. Government Ayurved College, Tiruvananthapuram, Kerala - 1 seat
9. Choudhary Braham Prakash Ayurvedic College, Delhi - 2 seats
10. Rajiv Gandhi Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital Mahe, Pondicherry - 1 seat

Names of Colleges for BSMS:
1. Government Siddha Medical College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu - 3 seats
2. Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai, Tamil Nadu - 2 seats

Names of College for BUMS:
1. Aligarh Muslim University (AMU),Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh - 2 seats

Names of College for BHMS:
1. National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata, West Bengal - 2 seats

Eligibility Criteria
• Candidates should have the eligibility to apply for the course
• Proficiency in English
• No serious health problems.
Priority will be given to students who have never studied in India before. Applicants are also advised to do due diligence and research on the specific admission criteria laid down for the courses, and ensure that they submit all relevant documentation as required by the Colleges/Universities in addition to the certificates mentioned in the ICCR Scholarship Application Form.

Value of Award
Tuition Fees, Living Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Thesis and Dissertation Expenses, and Study Tour expense. Please note that no airfare will be provided under this scholarship scheme.

How to Apply
Download and fill the ICCR Scholarship Application Form, along with the relevant enclosures and submit to the address given below, on or before the last date to apply: 31 March 2013. The ICCR Scholarship Application Form can be downloaded from the link provided in the website.
